Gravetye Manor – A House Built for a Bride

I had the pleasure of meeting Shen and Lee at Gravetye Manor at the weekend. I’m delighted to have been given the honour of photographing their wedding later this year.

Built in romance

Gravetye is an historical jewel in the West Sussex countryside. It nestles on a hill blessed with a beautiful view across the lake and valley. It’s a perfect setting for a wedding. And indeed, Gravetye was built in 1598 by Richard Infield, for his bride Katherine.

We took the opportunity to have a look around the sumptuous house and gardens at Gravetye. It’s February but the gardens were nonetheless romantic and colourful, the pink heather particularly so. Daffodils were tentatively showing their faces and snowdrops put in an appearance, too.

I’m looking forward to returning to this remarkable house in my capacity as a wedding photographer at Gravetye Manor.
